Excalibur dehydrators are user-friendly and use patented technology to remove moisture from your raw ingredients while preserving their nutritional benefits (read our Excalibur Profile here for more on the brand and its technology).
The RES10 model is the only Excalibur with 2 independent drying zones. You can dehydrate at different temperatures for different lengths of time in each zone, use only one zone (if you are drying a smaller batch and aren't filling the machine to capacity), or use both zones with the same settings.
99 hour 59 mn digital timer
Each zone has its own timer, with 2 time and 2 temperature controls. This speeds up the drying process: set a higher temperature for a specified period, then drop the temperature for the remainder of the dehydrating time.
The machine will automatically adjust temperature at the end of the first period, and turn off automatically when the second time period is complete.
You can make these living foods easily with the Excalibur:
- Sprouted seed crackers
- Dried fruit and nuts
- Fruit roll-ups (non-stick sheet recommended)
- Dried herbs
- Beef jerky
You can download a chart comparing all the Excalibur models in our catalogue here: you'll be sure to find a model that suits your kitchen!
These reusable food-grade solid sheets are sold separately. They are coated in teflon and are ideal for dehydrating roll-ups, fruit purée and semi-liquid / sticky foods, which would normally drip through the tray. These sheets are specifically designed to fit the RES10 model - please note Excalibur does not yet manufacture silicone-coated sheets for the RES10.
All Excalibur models come with a soft cover 28 page Dehydrator Guide that contains food preparation tips and ‘how to’ drying guide for 50 fruits and vegetables plus fruit rolls, jerky, and yoghurt.
As the RES10 model has smaller trays than all other Excalibur models, you need to purchase non-stick sheets specifically designed for it.
Excalibur also manufactures another 10 tray model made entirely from stainless steel - however it does not come with two independent zones.
- 10 Tray model with 99 hour 59 mn digital timer
