Cotton sourced from organic farms is produced without the help of chemical pesticides or insecticides. In a bid to further reduce the exposure of toxins through the use of tampons, the organic cotton used to make Jolie tampons is bleached with oxygen instead of chlorine gas (which can create the dangerous chemical dioxin as a by-product of the chlorine-bleaching process). Jolie applicators are made from biodegradable card and have a rounded, petal-shaped end making insertion of the tampon easier and more comfortable.
