Glucosamine and sulfate are naturally found in the body in cartilage and synovial fluid. Glucosamine is a crucial building block of cartilage along with protein, and helps preserve the elasticity, resilience and shock-absorbing properties of cartilage. Chondroitin is also naturally found in the body in cartilage and serves to lubricate and nourish joints, helping them to resist compression. The minerals manganese and boron are essential to the body's production of cartilage and bone, and play an important role in the bones and joints's chemical make-up.
