Our clay is sourced directly from Jason Eaton of Eyton's Earth and is shipped to us in sealed, air-tight FDA approved non-vinyl, high density polyethylene plastic buckets. Under normal circumstances, powdered clay may be stored in these containers indefinitely, provided that the container lid is properly sealed. If you have purchased smaller quantities, please also ensure you put the lids back on clay after use.
- Store the containers in a place with a room temperature variance of 70ºC or less.
- Always store out of sunlight.
- Keep plastic containers away from strong electromagnetic fields such as microwave ovens.
- If you are buying our hydrated clay or clay mousse, please do not keep in our containers for long periods of time. We would recommend transferring the clay to a glass or ceramic container if you are going to keep the clay for longer than four weeks.
- Never store clay in a metal container, or allow clay to come into prolonged contact with metals.
- Do not store clay next to chemicals or gasoline or products with strong odours as the clay will absorb these if not sealed properly.
- Please respect your clay by following the above guidelines and remember that clay is a 'living' thing, capable of expanding to 3 times its normal size when water is added.
