Echolife Australia's Calcium Bentonite Clay is one of the purest all-natural clays available. Belonging to the Montmorillonite/Smectite group, it is unique in that it swells, thus absorbing and adsorbing positive charged ions (toxins and impurities) from the body. It draws 32 times its molecular weight and swells to three times its normal size when water is added.
This clay is sourced from a sub-surface mine in the Californian Mojave Desert that has been protected from the natural elements for thousands of years.
Jason Eaton of Eyton's Earth who has over 15 years experience studying all types of clay from around the world writes: "One of the most common forms of green clay is Bentonite. It often contains substantial amounts of magnesium and a wide variety of trace minerals. Through its natural evolution, bentonite also selectively adsorbs an interesting variety of organic materials".
Our pure alkaline clay is classified as calcium bentonite/montmorillonite and is one of the finest quality clays available today. Due to the fact that this clay contains a significant amount of natural sodium, it shares the qualities of both sodium bentonite and calcium montmorillonite. It is therefore an 'all purpose clay', and may be used in the following ways.
